Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:45pm to 9:00pm, a minimum of two shifts per week


Note to Applicants: The Crimson Calling Center is located in the McMillan Building.


Job Summary: The Student Caller calls and speaks with the University constituents to raise funds for the National Alumni Association and The University of Alabama. Makes over 150 calls per night to alumni, parents, and friends of the institution. Supervised by Student Calling Leads and the Calling Center Coordinator.  


Additional Department Summary: The Crimson Calling Center is an integral part of the National Alumni Association, as well as the callers within it. Student Callers are expected to complete over 150 calls each night in an effort to raise funds for the National Alumni Association and schools/colleges around campus. Student Callers leave this position with strong experience in communications, sales, and calling etiquette. This position includes two days of paid training and an online training course. Students are expected to have this course completed prior to the first day of training.

In addition, to the Calling Center's required evening calling shifts, Student Callers have the opportunity to participate in calling on behalf of the University's Career Center during our daytime hours. These calls collect data from recent graduates that help to enhance the University and the Career Center.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Current University of Alabama undergraduate student. Punctual, independent, and excellent oral communication skills. Ability to work a minimum of two shifts per week. Ability to hold a conversation, quickly adapt to various calling situations, and establish a firm rapport with the constituent. 


Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication skills. Ability to learn new computer programs quickly. Ability to work independently. 


Preferred Qualifications: Experience in sales or cold calling.


Enrollment Requirements: Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment.
